Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat.15-days tour from Casablanca

On arrival at Casablanca airport you will be welcomed by us and we take you to Casablanca where we begin our journey. We visit the Hassan II -moskee, the largest mosque outside of Mecca, after which we go to Rabat, capital of Morocco. Dinner and overnight in hotel / Riad.

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast at your hotel / Riad, we will first visit the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah before continuing to travel to Fes via Meknes and Volubilis. In Meknes, one of the four Imperial Cities in Morocco, we visit the famous gate Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Basin and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch we continue the trip to Volubilis, the ruins of a Roman settlement, dating from the 3rd century BC. and where a part of the original mosaics have remained very good preserved. Through the foothills of the Rif mountain we drive direction Fes, where we will arrive in the late afternoon and check into our Riad right in the middle of the Medina of Fes. 15-days tour from Casablanca

Day 3: Discover Fes

After breakfast we walk through the oldest city in Morocco, wandering through alleys and small streets full of life. First stop is the Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish headquarters and the first Mellah ever built in Morocco in the 16th century. In Fes, we further visit all the sites of interest, including the famous Al Qaraouine University- the oldest in the region, the famous tanneries, the Attarine Museum and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch you will visit the mozaic factory. In the afternoon we will visit the new town “La ville nouvelle” and have a drink there. Dinner and overnight at our hotel / Riad.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After breakfast at your Riad, we will leave Fes and travel via Midelt and the Ziz valley to Merzouga. We drive through the village of Ifrane, a beautiful mountain village in the Middle Atlas Mountains and known as the Switzerland of Morocco. During this trip you will enjoy the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains and we stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest where Barbary Apes live. The journey continues to Midelt through the beautiful hills and mountains of the Atlas, over the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and through the Ziz Gorge. You will notice how the landscape changes as we approach the desert and the city of Errachidia where you can have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality. Then we continue our journey along the lush Ziz Valley and stop for a panoramic view along the road to Erfoud and Rissani. In the late afternoon we arrive in Merzouga, where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check into your Riad. Overnight in Riad.

Day 5: Merzouga area and camel ride

After breakfast in the Riad there is time to explore Merzouga before your camel ride in the afternoon towards the desert camp. We visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away is the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations. You will visit a nomad shop where many Berber handicrafts is priced lower than in the big cities. The afternoon is planned for your camel ride, guided by an experienced camel guide and you will discover the golden sea of sand of Merzouga. Dinner is in the tent camp where you also will spend the night. The camp is equipped with flush toilets.

Day 6: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to let you see the beautiful sunrise in the desert. Then you will have a peaceful camel ride back to the village of Merzouga. During the tour you will experience the unique beauty of the spectacular sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, which change with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, we leave for Rissani, Tinghir and the Todra Gorge – the highest and narrowest gorges of Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we drive through the Dades Valley, where you will see majestic sand castles and beautiful rock formations known as “monkey toes’. Overnight at hotel / Riad.

Day 7: Dades gorge – Bouthaghrar – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast at the hotel we travel through the Dades Valley to Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley is called ‘the road of the thousand kasbahs’, a scenic route with plenty of opportunities to take beautiful photos. Today you will have the opportunity to meet Berber nomads in their caves, and you will enjoy the fertile Valley of Roses and rock formations along the way. We stop at Kalaat M’gouna the ‘Rose city’, where you can buy rose water, rose creams and rose oil. We drive to Skoura, visit the Kasbah Ameridil, a well-preserved Kasbah in this area, followed by some light walks in the valley and a stop for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the entire valley. After lunch we arrive in Ouarzazate, the ‘Hollywood of Africa’. Here, you can choose to visit the studio, with props used in well known films such as The Mummy, Gladiator and The Last Temptation of Christ. Dinner and overnight at hotel / Riad.

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Imlil

After breakfast in the hotel (Ksar) we travel through the spectacular Tizi ‘nTichka pass to Asni and Imlil. But first we stop at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. The largest Kasbah in Morocco was built by T- Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs, at the end of the 19th century and was an important stop on the trade routes to Timbuktu in Mali. Today, there still live much of the Glaoui family in the Kasbah. After a short visit to the Kasbah your journey will be continued over the high Tizi n’Tichka Pass to Asni and Imlil, villages in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight in hotel / Riad.

Day 9: Area Arumd and Imlil

After breakfast you have the chance to explore the area and enjoy the Berber culture, you can choose to walk a few hours in the valley and experience a fascinating view from the highest mountain in North Africa. You will also walk to the village of Arumd, a small Berber settlement with a proud culture. In the afternoon you can stay in the Kasbah and enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight at our hotel / Riad.

Day 10 Imlil – Tahnaout – Marrakech

After breakfast in the Kasbah we prepare for departure to Marrakech via the Berber village Tahnaout and the fascinating canyon of Moulay Brahim. After several stops to take pictures, we continue the trip to Marrakech and there we see the Majorelle gardens before you check into your Riad. After dinner, enjoy a walk on the famous square Jemaa El Fna , with a motley collection of magicians, storytellers, musicians and snake charmers. Overnight in Riad.

Day 11: Marrakech exploring

After breakfast in the Riad you can start exploring Marrakech, the “red city of Morocco.” We will ensure that you will see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Saadian tombs, the palace of El Bahia and the Ben Youssef Coranic School, and the souks. Lunch is at a restaurant near the square. In the afternoon you will have free time to wander through Marrakech by yourself. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.

Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast we depart for Essaouira and explore the city.
You will visit the fort Skala, the harbor, the souks and meet the specialization of Essaouira, editing and cutting of Thuya wood by craftsmen. We walk through the alleys of the medina and along the hundreds of crafts. Essaouira is known for its strong winds and is called the ‘City of the wind’. Surfers from all over the world come to this place. Essaouira has known many civilizations – including the Portuguese, who greatly influenced architecture. It is a small town with a big history. Because of its size and its distinctive blue doors and washed walls, it is also regarded as Morocco’s Jewel of the Atlantics. Your visit includes the Mellah – the Jewish headquarters, as well as the broad and expansive golden sandy beach. Overnight at Riad / hotel

Day 13: Essouaira – Walidia (Oualidia) – El Jadida

Today we leave after breakfast towards Walidia. We take the beautiful coastal road along the Atlantic Ocean. The small town is situated between El Jadida and Safi, and it has a beautiful lagoon of 12 km long and is one of the most beautiful lagoons in Morocco. The combination of the sea, sand and sun creates a light which is a feast for the eye. After a visit to the remains of the Kasbah, you will have the opportunity for a lunch. After lunch we leave for El Jadida. Overnight in El Jadida.

Day 14: El Jadida – Casablanca

El Jadida is a nice port town on the Atlantic coast. It was built in the early 16th century as a fortified colony. The castle with its bastions are an example of this. In 2004 the historical center was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You are today free to explore the town and in the afternoon we depart to Casablanca, where overnight.
