9 Day tour from Tangier to the north and imperial cities


Day 1 : Tangier

When we reach Morocco,we will arrive in Tangier by boat or plane after which we will be transfer to our hotel which is located in Tangier. Tangier is known as an ancient port steeped in history, and it is used to protect the foyer leading to the Mediterranean. It is said to have a very busy Medina and also the new city.

Day 2 : Espartel Cape

In the morning we will go on an adventure walk to explore Tangier. In the afternoon, we will journey west of Tangier up to Cape Espartel through the Montagne. When we reach here we can see eagles and migratory birds soaring, through Spain or back for the winter. After this experience, we will visit the Grottes d’Hercule just 5km south of the lighthouse at Cape Espartel. According to the myth/history,  Hercules rested in the caves after he dug the straights between Europe and Africa.

Day 3 : Tetouan- Chefchaouen

We will be leaving Tangier, and journey west, along the coast and the mountain road to Ceuta (Ceuta for the locals). This view has a panoramic view and we can view the sea and also hike Jebel Musa, which faces the Rock of Gibraltar (Jebel Tarik). After lunch, in Tetouan, we will prolong our trip along the coast, passing by the small fishing port of Cabo Negro and then travel toward the mountains to Chefchaouen. This city is said to be founded in 1471, and was very secluded until the start of the 20th century. At the summit of the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is decorated in shades of blue, which is a valuable heritage of the Jewish populace that existed there. The overnight at the hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 4: Chefchaouen.

On this day we will enjoy a day of relaxation in Chefchaouen, a sanctuary of peacetime and calmness. We will also discover the medina of Chefchaouen, the beautiful quarter silk and wool fabric; we will also see the main square with its teashops, and also the souks. We can also enjoy bartering opportunities for a kilim in the shop, where we will get some item on special. The overnight at the hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 5 : Rif mountains-Fes.

On this day,we will travel to see highlands of the Rif to Fes. We will visit the Rif Mountains that are still somewhat unexplored by tourists, relatively because they are very secluded, and partly because hashish is grown in fields in hidden gorges. Nevertheless, with the help of our conductor and chauffeur, we will get the chance to  relax and enjoy the virgins of Morocco.

Day 6 : Fes sightseeing.

After breakfast we will discover the ancient medieval city in the world, Fes is a garner of busy and truthfully attractive movement. Spend the day exploring this historic city, the souks, the palaces and the views from the museum and the old Kasbah just outside the city walls. The overnight at the hotel in Fes.

Day 7 : Roman city of Volubilis

We will journey from the city in the morning and visit the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, in the foothills of the Middle Atlas highlands. We will also view amazing mosiacs, floodgates, villas and the forum remains – the city is very large that not all has been excavated yet. In the afternoon, visit the city of Moulay Idriss, only open to non-Muslims in recent history and is named after the founder of Fez. We will stay at a hotel for the night in the imperial city of Meknes.

Day 8 : Views of the Rif Mountains

In the morning we will journey from Meknes, and pass by the mountains of the Rif and the city of Ksar el-Kbir, then we will head back to Tangier. We will enjoy of final night relaxing, and purchase souvenirs. We will enjoy dinner at a famous restaurant in town. The overnight at the hotel in Tangier.

Day 9 : Tanger

We will leave for the airport and the ferry dock to take our trip back home.
