3 days Desert tour from Ouarzazate – Merzouga end in Fes

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Roses Valley – Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges

After breakfast, you will be headed to Skoura-fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves. The Kasbah Amerhidil is one of the most famous landmarks of Skoura and is definitely worth seeing. The next destination is Kelaa M’gouna, a spot where the roses festival takes place every year in May. From here you will have the chance to see the nomads, their way of life, learn their habits and get to know their culture. You will be able to do all of this in the Atlas Mountains. However, just right when the off-road finishes and the asphalt begins you’ll see Ait Youl Kasbah and the green valley of Dades. You’ll reach Todra Gorges and the rest of the day is to appreciate the quietness of the mountains. Both the Todra and Dades Rivers have carved out cliff-sided canyons on their final 40 kilometers through the mountains. You will spend the night in an accommodation in a hotel in the middle of the gorges.

Day 2: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

Waking up in the middle of the gorges, more exactly the Todra Gorges. Today’s destination is Merzouga. However, in order to get there, you will pass through Erfoud  an oasis town in the Sahara Desert. Erfoud is a destination for filmmakers due to the beauty of the surrounding Sahara Desert and the town’s oasis areas. Moreover, because of the Merzouga desert village in the Erg Chebbi Dunes, Erfoud has become a famous tourist destination for people around the world. Erg Chebbi is one of Morocco’s two Saharan ergs, more exactly a large sea of dunes formed by the sand under influence of the wind. This area is pretty difficult to access and because of it you will do that on a camel. The camel ride starts from Erg Chebbi and it finishes in the heart of the desert, where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Midlet- Ifran Then Fes.

After an early wake up to enjoy an amazing sunrise camel trek over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, we will reach the camp operator’s lodge in Merzouga for breakfast and shower ( If you choose to upgrade to the luxury camp, breakfast will be served at the camp, and showers are available at your tent)
Meet your driver / guide and depart on a scenic drive to Fes crossing the Ziz Vlley through Errachidia which is the capital of Tafilalt region.
We carry on our journey to Midelt where we will have lunch at leisure before we keep driving across the Middle Atlas Mountians with its Cedar Forests and Berber towns of Imouzzar and Ifran, which are both famous as winter ski resorts for Moroccans.
Your driver might spot some Barbary apes on the way and seize the opportunity to take some pictures.
